We All Know It’s Time to Let Go.

There was a night I was sitting at the kitchen table after dinner, waiting for Joe to get home from work, when all of a sudden I looked down and it hit me: I legit have an actual BABY in my belly right now!

I know that might sound kind of dumb, but at least right now, it can be easy to forget that my body is creating a human life. Whenever I feel our daughter kick, it brings forth feelings of excitement and joy, but whenever she’s not moving, I’ll be honest. I sort of forget about all the good things that are coming.

But isn’t that everyone right now? For the longest time we lost touch with reality, not truly seeing what was important. We slowly sank further and further into our own mini lives, completely losing sight of what really mattered in life! And now that we’re in isolation and quarantine, we are forced to face what’s been right in front of us all along.

We became numb to not only the bad things, but the good things too.

How easy is it for us to take advantage of the sweet gifts life brings us and choose to ignore all the chaos and turmoil in our world? I know it’s as simple as a “click” off the TV for me!

So as I sit here thinking about what lies ahead, all the good, the bad, and the ugly, my heart resonates with a low undertone voice whispering to my soul. Everything’s going to be okay. Your joy is complete in me. Never fear, for I am with you.

I think we all need to take a deep breath this week and understand everything’s happening for a reason. We may not all agree on why, or who, or even what, but it’s all happening for a reason. I believe it’s for our good because God promises it in His Word (Romans 8:28).

What do you need to actively let go of this week? Jump in that tub if you have to; shut the door and refuse to come out for an hour, even if you miss a couple phone calls.

Because deep down inside, we all know it’s worth it. We all know it’s time to let go. So let’s go do that this week.
